The Phoenix

The Phoenix was written by Sylbia Townsend Warner in 1940, in England, during the second world war. This story takes place after and before the WW2. The story is about a person who had an aviary and wanted a mythical bird, the Phoenix. One day he found it in Arabia. When the owner of the aviary died, the Phoenix and the rest of the aviary was sold to Mr Poldero, the owner of Poldero's Wizzard Wonderland. He got advantage of the Phoenix and won a lot of money and when he saw that people were getting bored of the Phoenix because he didn't do anything exciting. He remembered that he had read that when the Phoenix feel old it build a nest and it bursts into flames and arises again from its ases. Because of this he tried to do the Phoenix feel tired and old to die.
The plot is very nice because it show you how the society in this case Mr Poldero and Lord Strawberry use nature to get the things that they want. The main characters of this story are Mr Poldero, Lord Strawberry (the owner of the aviary) and the Phoenix. Mr Poldero was an ambicious man, owner of Poldero's Wizzard Wonderland, Lord Strawberry was a lover of birds and the Phoemix had a passive role.
To sum up, this story is ver excisting and I recomend it.
